Two Raiders take MCHA weekly awards

Two members of the MSOE hockey team were selected for Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association weekly honors for their performances during the past week. Junior forward Jordan Keizer was named MCHA Player of the Week while senior goaltender Connor Toomey was selected as MCHA Defensive Player of the Week. The Raiders are once again ranked No. 11 in the United States Collegiate Hockey Online Division III national poll this week.

Jordan Keizer scored his national-best fourth shorthanded goal of the season when the Raiders were down two men against Saint John's Friday night. The goal gave MSOE a 2-1 lead in the game. He also picked up an assist in Saturday's game against Bethel and was +2 on the weekend.

Toomey had a goals against average of 2.00 in the team's two games. He made 24 stops in the 3-2 overtime victory against the Johnnies and 21 saves in the team's 2-1 loss to Bethel. Toomey has won the conference's Defensive Player of the Week award 12 times during his career. He currently stands ninth in all of Division III with a 1.91 GAA.

The Raiders hit the ice Friday night as they host Hamline in a non-conference game. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. at the Kern Center in Milwaukee.
