MSOE led all teams with three players being honored on the All-U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) teams. Junior forward Jordan Keizer was named to the Second Team while senior goalie Connor Toomey was selected to the Third Team. Freshman forward Josh Keizer was picked as a member of the All-Rookie Team. Toomey and Jordan Keizer were recently named to the ACHA All-American teams.
Toomey finished his MSOE career as the all-time leader in school history for wins (64), goals against average (2.32), save percentage (.913), saves (2480) and shutouts (10). He was named Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) All-Conference this season and was MCHA Player of the Year in 2010-11. Among all Division III players, Toomey was eighth in goals against average at 1.98 and tied for fifth with three shutouts.
Jordan Keizer also was selected MCHA All-Conference and he led the country with seven short-handed goals and seven game-winning goals. He finished second in goals (23) and points (45) nationally. Keizer scored the most goals in MCHA play with 16 and was second with 34 points in conference action. He has 101 points during his three seasons at MSOE.
Josh Keizer was named to the MCHA All-Freshman Team. In MCHA play, he was right behind his brother with 13 goals in conference play and tied for the lead in freshman scoring in MCHA action at 25 points. Around the country, he was third in points among rookies.
The Raiders won the MCHA Harris Cup for the first time since 2006 by defeating Adrian 4-3 in overtime to clinch MSOE’s first ever appearance in the NCAA tournament. Keizer scored the game-winning goal in that contest. MSOE’s season came to an end when they fell to Gustavus Adolphus 3-1 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship earlier this month. The Raiders finished the season ranked No. 8 in the USCHO.com Division III national poll. The team was ranked in every poll this season.
