Four MSOE records set at NAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

Senior Emily Dieringer won three events at the Northern Athletics Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday in Kenosha, Wis. The men's team finished third at the event while the women's squad came in seventh. Four MSOE records were set by the Raiders and two NAC records were broken by MSOE.
Dieringer had a mark of 3.05 meters in the pole vault to win that event. That performance ties the NAC Championships record. Dieringer bested her MSOE record in the 55-meter hurdles as she won the event with a time of 8.60 seconds which also breaks the NAC record which she held. In the 200-meter dash, she had a time of 26.52 second to also win that event.
Junior Anete Zagare bested her school record mark in the mile run as she was second in the event at 5:31.16. Junior Katelyn Herrmann finished fourth in the 3000-meter run with a mark of 11:33.80. Senior Amanda Heller was fifth in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:28.11 in the finals. Sophomore Mollie Zuberbier was eighth in the high jump at 1.41 meters.
New school records fell on the men's side as well for the Raiders. Freshman Nathan Verdun won the high jump (1.92 meters) with sophomore Mike Cosentino placing second (1.87 meters). Verdun's mark is a new MSOE record. Sophomore Matt Waech had a big day for MSOE as he had three top five finishes. In the pole vault, the Raiders took the top two spots with Waech winning the event (4.25 meters) and Cosentino in second (4.25 meters). Waech and Cosentino's marks are a new MSOE record and also breaks the NAC Championship record. Waech's time of 50.89 seconds in the 400-meter dash was good for second place and he was fourth in the 200-meter dash at 22.99 seconds.
Junior Patrick DuBois grabbed third place in the weight throw with a mark of 14.84 meters in finals of that event and also placed third in the shot put at 14.04 meters. In the 55-meter hurdles, senior Tim Lang had a time of 8.46 seconds in the finals to come in the fourth spot. Junior Ben Peterson was sixth in the mile run at 4:37.32 and seventh in the 800-meter run at 2:04.86. Arthur Weborg finished sixth in the triple jump (12.93 meters). In the long jump, senior Arthur Weborg came in seventh at 6.54 meters. MSOE's distance medley finished with a time of 10:53.42 to place second.
