Lake Forest, Ill -- The MSOE Raider Hockey team finished off a weekend sweep against the Lake Forest College Foresters Saturday night with a 4-2 win. Freshman forward Jordan Keizer scored the game-winning goal at the 3:26 mark of the third period in a short-handed situation. Sophomore goaltender Connor Toomey made 31 saves to pick up his 11th win of the season for MSOE. Junior forward Michael Soik scored his second goal of the weekend and 14th of the season to give the Raiders a 4-2 lead late in the third period. MSOE got the scoring going in the first period when sophomore forward Todd Krupa scored a power play goal. After allowing two goals by Lake Forest in the second period, Sean McGaughy tied the game for the Raiders at two in that period. The Raiders are now 13-8-2 and 12-5-1 in MCHA play. MSOE will head to Michigan to face Adrian College next weekend to finish up the regular season. The Raiders will host Lake Forest in the first round of the MCHA playoffs during the last weekend of February at the Kern Center. Dates and times are TBD. |
