Milwaukee -- Needing a win to force a 20-minute mini-game in the first round of the MCHA Tournament, the MSOE Hockey team knocked off Lake Forest College 7-3 Sunday afternoon. However in overtime of the mini-game, the Foresters scored to beat the Raiders 2-1 and advanced to the MCHA Harris Cup Four in Adrian, Michigan next weekend.

Getting the scoring going in the early game for MSOE was freshman defenseman Carl Lindblad at the 1:50 mark of the first period. Then another defenseman Ben Plocar logged an unassisted goal to make it 2-0 Raiders. Freshman forwards Jordan Keizer and Sean-Michael Tisdall both netted goals early in the second period to make it 4-1 in favor of MSOE.

Lake Forest would battle back to pull within one but the Raiders got third period goals from Plocar and Keizer again as well as senior forward Stephen Smiddy in his final game as a Raider. Sophomore goaltender Conner Toomey picked up his 12th win of the season as he made 18 saves.

In the mini-game, the Raiders tied things up at 1 with just 33 seconds left to force overtime. Freshman forward Bradley Tierney forced in a rebound to knot the game. MSOE finishes the season with a record of 14-11-2 overall.
