Lightweight fours finish sixth at Head of Charles Regatta On Sunday in a 17 mph headwind, the MSOE Varsity Lightweight 4+ crew, coxed by Liz Kelnhofer, took sixth place out of 16 boats at the 48th annual Head of the Charles Regatta with a time of 18:00.2.The Raiders were only 64 seconds behind the winner, the New York Athletic club in the Men’s Championship Lightweight 4+ race. This race features crews from National team development camps in New York, and Canada; along with Eastern powerhouses Yale, Dartmouth, Penn, Georgetown, the Naval Academy and Harvard. Unfortunately during this race, MSOE was involved in a four boat collision which caused them to come to a complete stop while the boats were untangled. The crew was comprised of Jon Allen at Stroke seat, Ben Lang in 3 seat, Luke Engebretson in 2 seat and Mike Dorus sitting bow. The boat bettered their eighth place finish from a year ago. |
