Hockey Drops Tough Fought Game to Marian
Milwaukee, Wis. - Brandon Blair scored with 4:38 left in the game to break a 3-3 tie to give the Marian College Sabres a win over the MSOE Raiders Saturday night at the Kern Center.
MSOE out shot the Sabres 31-18 on the night but could not pull off the victory. The two teams combined for 29 penalties and 61 penalty minutes.
With the loss, MSOE falls to 5-5 in MCHA games and 7-8 overall on the season. Marian improves to 10-5 overall and 9-1 MCHA play. Freshman Michael Soik (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH), sophomore Reid Crawford (Glendale, WI/Nicolet) and junior Matthew Lietzan scored MSOE's three goals.
Freshman Chris Keller (Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) picked up 14 saves for the Raiders in the loss. Jason Jadczak made 28 saves to get the win for Marian.
The Raiders travel to Ashland, Wis. next weekend to Northland College on Friday and Saturday in two MCHA games.
