Raiders participate in Milwaukee River Challenge

The MSOE rowing team competed in the Milwaukee River Challenge Saturday which had the most competitors and spectators in the history of the event. The men's 8+ boat for the Raiders placed second behind Purdue.

The MSOE rowing team competed in the 47th Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston this weekend. The event included teams from all over the globe. The Raiders finished eighth of 22 boats in the lightweight fours event. MSOE was 16th out of 39 teams in the collegiate fours race.

The MSOE rowing team took part in the Dad Vail Championships this weekend in Philadelphia and the squad's lightweight 4 boat took second place overall. The MSOE men's varsity pair boat also advanced to the finals at the prestigious event.

Philadelphia--The MSOE rowing team won the BRENDAN LYNCH CUP at the showcase college rowing event in the nation: the Dad Vail Regatta, held Saturday, May 9, on Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River. The MSOE Raiders’ Frosh/Novice Lightweight eight crew upset local favorite Delaware and top programs from Georgia Tech and Penn State on their way to an “Open Water” victory. This was the first national victory for MSOE’s second year program.

The Raiders had a very solid Sunday at the Tail of the Fox Regatta in DePere, Wis. by winning four races. MSOE won the varsity open eight race with a time of 12:58.39. On that boat was coxswain Rachel Connon, stroke seat Zach Parsons, seven seat Ben Lang, six seat Luke Engebretson, five seat Dave Taylor, four seat Curt Albrecht, three seat Ed Adams, two seat Ryan Lowery and bow seat Mike Cerny.

The Raiders took part in the Heart of Texas Regatta this past Saturday in Austin, Texas. Despite high winds, rain and lightning. The novice 8+ placed second at the event. The boat moved within a half a length of open water behind the winner. They had a time of 3:31.64. The varsity 4+ was also second at 3:23.64.

MSOE rowing to compete in Kilbourn/Juneau Cup Saturday

The MSOE rowing team will compete for both the Kilbourn and Juneau Cup this Saturday, April 9 on the Milwaukee River beginning at 9 a.m. The race will start at the Time Warner Cable Building and conclude at the Milwaukee Rowing Club docks. Teams participating along with MSOE include Marquette, Northern Michigan, St. Norbert and Lawrence.

The MSOE rowing team finished their run at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia Saturday. In the semifinals of the men's frosh/novice four with cox, the Raiders placed fourth with a time of 7:24.22. In the semis men's pair without cox, the Raiders placed fourth with a mark of 7:48.92.

The MSOE rowing team took part in the Tail of the Fox Regatta on the Fox River in DePere, Wis. Sunday and finished first in all races in which they competed. The Raiders won the heavyweight 8+ race with a time of 11:39.23, about 15 seconds ahead of the Milwaukee Rowing Club.

The Raiders won both the Kilbourn and Juneau Cups Saturday in Milwaukee. The competition took place in the Milwaukee River. MSOE's varsity eight had a time of 4:54.73 to beat Marquette and win the Kilbourn Cup. Also, the Raiders' varsity four won their event to take home the Juneau Cup with a time of 5:29.66

The Raiders finished their season this past weekend by competing in the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia. On Saturday, MSOE advanced to the final of the Men's Varsity Lightweight Four by placing second in the semis. The Raiders finished fourth in the final of that race which is 14 spots higher compared to last year for MSOE.
