2009 Preview
In 2008, the MSOE men's cross country team fell short of their 11th consecutive conference championship. The team not only graduates one of the most prolific runners in MSOE history in Dominic Maio, but they also graduated ALL NAC selection Tim Carlson and NAC Honorable Mention Ben Bichler and Robert Kester.
They Raiders return to the lineup ALL NAC recipients in Zach Lutz (West Allis, Wis. / Nathan Hale), and Jay Stasiak (Sturgeon Bay, Wis. / Sturgeon Bay, Wis.). They also return honorable mention selection junior harrier Cameron Rate (Theresa, Wis. / Slinger).
Look for juniors Matt Jungers (Random Lake, Ill./ Random Lake) and Kennan Unangst (Berlin, Wis. / Berlin) to score for the Raiders. MSOE has a group of freshman runners looking to impact the program as well. They include Ben Peterson (Racine, Wis. / Racine Horlick), Jake Schneider (Waunakee, Wis. Waunakee), Alex Schroader (Fall Creek, Wis. / Fall Creek), and Aaron Eisenmann (Appleton, Wis. / Fox Valley Lutheran).
The season gets underway with the St. Norbert Invitational on Saturday September 5. Other important meets include the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday Sept. 26 and the Wisconsin Private Schools Invitational on October 17, hosted by Ripon College. The season cumulates with the NAC championship on October 31 in River Forest, Ill. , followed by the NCAA regional on November 14 hosted by the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
