2010 Season Preview
The MSOE women's tennis team will look to build on their ninth place Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) finish last year as their 2010 season gets underway. The Raiders were picked to finish eighth in the NAC this season by the women's tennis coaches in the conference.
Seniors Samantha Pekarscik (Saint Clair Shores, Mich./Plainfield North) and Julie Burg (Saint Clair Shores, Mich./Plainfield North (Richfield, Wis./Slinger) return for MSOE. Pekarscik went 4-5 in NAC singles play while Burg was 6-5 in NAC singles action last season. Junior Carol Cayo (Lake Mills, Wis./Lake Mills) was 5-5 in NAC singles play in 2009. MSOE was 4-8 overall and 4-7 in conference last year.
The Raiders start their season Sept. 4 against Rockford at McKinley Park near the Milwaukee lakefront. The NAC women's tennis championship will be Oct. 2-3 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis.
