2007 Season Preview

The MSOE women's tennis program returns four key players, looking to take on competition as they enter the Northern Athletics Conference this year. Blake Wentz enters his first year as head coach of the MSOE tennis program.

Women's Tennis MSOE is led by junior captain Sophie Janto (Mequon, Wis./Homestead High School). Janto plays number two singles and number one doubles. She brings two years of experience to the team. Janto was also champion at number six singles in the Lake Michigan Conference her freshman season.

Joy Cirilli (Peoria, Ill./Morton High School), a junior, returns as the number one singles player and will most likely be paired with Janto to compete at number one doubles again this year.

Mary Christiansen (Shelby, Mich./Shelby High School) and Liz Keyes (Madison, Wis./ LaFollette High School) also return to the Raider line up this year. Christiansen, a junior, played most of her matches last season at number five singles and number three doubles with Keyes; while Keyes played number six singles. Both players could move up on the Raider depth chart.

The Raiders will face ten foes from the Northern Athletics Conference as well as Carroll, Mount Mary and Lake Forest in non-conference tilts. The conference championship will be held on Oct. 6-7 at a site yet to be determined.
