2012 Season Recap

Men’s Tennis (9-10; 8-1, 2nd - Northern Athletics Conference) 
Men’s Tennis finishes second at NAC team championships; Montenegro, Klamrowski earn NAC Tennis Honors

In the Northern Athletics men’s tennis team championships, the Raiders knocked off Edgewood 5-1 in the semifinals before falling to first seed Concordia- Wisconsin 5-1 in the NAC final. The doubles team of Jeff Scarpelli and Nick Matsuura picked up the lone victory for the Raiders against the Falcons. The team finished the 2012 campaign 9-10 overall and 8-1 in conference matches.

MSOE men’s tennis players Juan Diego Montenegro and Eric Klamrowski have been selected to the All Northern Athletic Conference Team for both singles and doubles play.

In 2012, Montenegro finished the singles season with an 11-13 overall record, 7-12 in dual meets and 6-3 in conference play in the number singles slot. This is his second year as an All NAC selection. In 2009, Montenegro was the conference Freshman of the year.

Klamrowski, a sophomore, finished the singles season with an 11-13 overall record, 7-12 in dual meets and 6-3 in conference play. 11-9 overall, 9-0 in conference play as the Raider’s number two singles player.

In doubles, Montenegro and Klamrowski teamed up for a 9-11 overall mark, 7-10 record in dual matches and 6-3 in NAC play. Both student-athletes received All NAC honors last year with other partners.
