My favorite painting is "Troll" by David Gignac (you can view more of his work at Museo, Langley, Washington: October 2012). I used to live on the south end of Whidbey Island, where Gignac lives. My wife and I saw the painting hanging in a gallery in Langley, Washington one Saturday afternoon, and it was the one and only time in my life when I viewed a work of art and thought "I should buy that."
We hang the painting in our bedroom. This time of year, the morning light enters through the frosted glass of the window and hits "Troll," a symbol of the quiet solitude only afforded by morning.
