Facilities is painting the Student Life office. Soon, we will be surrounded in shades of red and white--all the more helpful for engendering a dynamic student spirit on campus.
In my doctoral coursework, I took courses in qualitative research that shared research on how environment impacts human behavior. Does it matter that the walls have a fresh coat of paint? You bet. Does it matter that the colors are white and red? You bet. It will make us look more professional, which impacts not only those who enter our office (the perception of Student Life) by those of us who work in the office (the substance of Student Life). So many staff and students are working to make the entire campus ready for the students who will return in the fall; I'm grateful.
Here's a photo of Eric, a student worker who is putting a second coat of red paint on the north wall of the office.
