I'm an introvert, and I enjoy being an introvert. But introverts don't get a lot of affirmation for their introspective characteristics. That's why I'm a big fan of Susan Cain. I've read her book (which can be purchased on Amazon) and watched her talk (which can be viewed on TED), and this afternoon I stumbled upon an article that focuses on How to Overcome the Fear of ‘Putting Yourself Out There’.

In the article, she lists eight ideas to help you power through these disabling emotions. My favorite one is #4:

Train yourself to associate idea generation with pleasure. I usually work at a cozy café table and indulge in a chocolate muffin. I would probably be five pounds lighter without this habit, but I don’t care. By now I so associate writing and idea generation with pleasure, that I love it even when I don’t have a café table handy.

Read the article, and leave a comment letting us know which idea you consider most salient.
