Jeff Mace wants to be more than a hero!

He wants to be a symbol!

The appearance of Captain America in 1941 inspired a nation on the brink of war, including reporter Jeff Mace. After seeing Captain America in action, Mace chooses to become the Patriot and leads a group of heroes, the Liberty Legion, against Axis threats at home.  After the war, Mace discovers the truth: Captain America died during the war in a plane crash, and another man replaced him.  The symbol is more important than the man who wears the costume.  Now, Mace is asked to be the next Captain America!  Can he live up to the legend that preceded him and find a role for Cap in the aftermath of World War II? This is the story of a man who was a great Patriot and his determination to be something more – his attempt to be not just a hero, but a symbol of hope in post-war America.
