FAQs

When can I move into the residence Halls?

Move in day for students last name A-M* is Saturday, August 27th between 9am and 5pm and it is August 28th for students last name N-Z.
*If you can’t make your assigned day please contact Housing at 414.277.7400 to make alternate arrangements

Where do I park during student move-in?

Park in any MSOE parking lot near the Residence Halls for a maximum of 30 minutes while you unload your items. After 30 minutes, you must move your vehicle to the MSOE Viets Field parking structure at 1305 N. Broadway. (Vehicles parked longer than 30 minutes are subject to a parking citation.)
You do not need a permit to park in the Viets Field parking structure on Saturday, Aug. 27 or Sunday, Aug. 28. However, on Monday, Aug. 29 or Tuesday, Aug. 30, you must purchase a student parking permit from the MLH Public Safety Office and have your MSOE ID card coded to allow 24-hour unlimited access to the MSOE Viets Field parking structure. Beginning at 8 a.m. on Aug. 31, all vehicles in the parking structure must have an MSOE Student Parking Permit displayed.
You can also park in one of the metered parking spots on the street near the Residence Halls. Pay particular attention to the parking signs to determine whether or not you need to pay the meter and what time limits you must abide by. (Note: if money is required on the day you park and your meter is expired, even for a few minutes, you will most likely receive a City of Milwaukee parking citation.)

How do I get a student parking permit?

If you want to park your vehicle in the MSOE Viets Field parking structure during the school year, you must purchase a permit. Please apply for your parking permit online.
