MSOE is rolling out a new social website on Aug. 27. Along with a new look and feel, the website will deliver a more personalized experience for visitors. One of the key features of the site will be a community called Hub where all students, faculty, staff, alumni, prospective students, parents, high school counselors and community partners can join and create a profile.
After creating an account and identifying themselves as current students, alumni, etc., the site will recall who visitors are on their subsequent visits. For example, when a high school student visits the site for the first time, he or she can create an account and set up a profile. If he is interested in majoring in software engineering and joining a student organization, the site will make note of this and in future visits, tailor this student’s experience based on his interests. Success stories, videos and discussions relating to software engineering and campus activities will appear.
