This master’s degree was created in conjunction with the Rader School of Business and the Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management Department. The degree targets professionals who are working in, or have experience in, the construction industry. It teaches students the leadership tools necessary to compete in the ever-changing and highly competitive construction management environment. It provides students with advanced skills and understanding in construction project administration and business management.

Courses are focused on business development, new and emerging technologies for construction and project delivery systems, and executive administration of construction firms. Faculty members bring their extensive industry experience to the classroom, and most have Ph.D.s.

All classes are offered in the evenings via blended Internet format, and course offerings complement the construction industry’s seasonal work flow.

A Practical Education

MSOE prides itself on its applications-oriented learning environment. While pursuing this degree, you will:

  • use sound methodology to analyze, interpret and apply advanced construction management concepts for the improvement of the profession.
  • use effective business management skills to solve practical construction problems.
  • learn how to evaluate and manage personnel, materials, tools and equipment, costs and time.

Master Certificate in Construction and Business Management

Individuals who hold a master’s degree in a related field (e.g., MBA, MSCM ,etc.), or who have a bachelor’s degree and construction industry experience, can earn a Master Certificate in Construction and Business Management. Upon completion of a three-course sequence of graduate courses, individuals are awarded the master certificate. Master certificate students are expected to be eligible for graduate study at MSOE as a non-degree graduate student. Submit the online application and official transcript of your highest degree earned. A bachelor’s degree is required. All course prerequisites must be satisfied prior to registration in a particular course.
