Perhaps you feel that summer has gone by too quickly (we do, too!), but classes begin for the 2014-2015 school year in just under a month! Therefore, we want to make sure you are up to date with your Financial Aid so that you have a successful year. Follow this checklist to make sure you are set for fall:
If you have been selected for verification, please turn in all required documents so that we may award you financial aid.
If you do not plan on filing the FAFSA this year, please let us know.
If you will be a first time Federal Direct Loan borrower this year, be sure to complete your Entrance Counseling and sign your Master Promissory Note. Both can be completed online at www.studentloans.gov.
If you are interested in scholarships, follow our Money Monday blog to be up to date with what MSOE is offering.
If you have been awarded Federal Work Study, now is the time to start applying for jobs.
If you know that you will need to take out an additional loan to help with costs this year, please start the application process now if you haven’t already done so. Applications for the Parent PLUS Loan can be completed at www.studentloans.gov, and applications for a student loan through a bank or credit union can be completed on the respective lender’s website, by phone, or in person with that lender. Please see our Alternative Loan Guide for information comparing lenders that MSOE students commonly work with.
Feel free to contact our office with any other questions you have. We look forward to seeing you in September!
