The following information will provide you with important details concerning student employment policies and procedures. Please read this carefully and contact the Human Resources office at (414) 277-7132 if you have any questions.
To qualify for student employment during the summer you are required to be registered for at least six undergraduate credits or three graduate credits for the upcoming fall term. The summer employment period begins on June 1 and ends on August 31. You may work a maximum of 40 hours per week during the summer for all jobs held on campus.
You will be paid for hours worked. You will NOT be paid for lunch breaks, sick days, holidays, or as a result of any emergency or weather related closing.
All student employees must complete the Student Employment Contract. In addition, students who have not worked on campus will be required to complete payroll forms: I-9 (Employment Eligibility and Verification), W4 (Federal and state withholdings), and Direct Deposit Form. All completed forms must be returned to the Human Resources office prior to starting employment with the university.
Students who graduate in May from MSOE may be employed for the summer only. The summer student employment period ends on August 31.
