Girls Exploring Math

Registration for this event is now closed.

Girls Exploring Math is a career-oriented math day for young women in grades 9-11.

Why should you attend?

This program will introduce you to in-demand careers in mathematical sciences. If you like math, learn about careers in actuarial science, operations research, cryptography and engineering. These fields cover a broad range of areas within mathematics and are projected to have excellent employment opportunities.

Who is invited?

Young women in grades 9-11. Parents also are invited to attend optional sessions in the afternoon (see the schedule).

What will you do?

You will participate in four workshops, each with a mathematical problem connected to one of the specific areas. After lunch with current MSOE math students and STEM professionals, there will be a keynote address given by a professional actuary. Participants may request a professional mentor who will follow-up after the workshop to answer any questions that they might have. An optional campus tour will follow the keynote.

Girls Exploring math is a free event and includes lunch and a free t-shirt.
