Dear Dr. Tritt:
At this time of the year, many of your senior biomedical engineering students have begun their job searches to secure employment after graduation or they have applied to various graduate or professional degree programs.
Students interested in pursuing careers in the medical device industry or clinical environment will be interested in learning about the Healthcare Technologies Management Program offered jointly by Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin. This unique graduate program, leading to a Master of Science degree from both institutions, focuses on preparing biomedical (and other) engineers for technical management positions within medical device companies, hospitals, and healthcare consulting firms. The program supplements a student’s technical background with a formal business and management education and provides many benefits compared to the traditional MBA or engineering management degrees. It better addresses the unique needs of engineers working in the medical device industry or clinical setting. Over 96% of graduates of the program are employed in a variety of areas including research and development, product design, sales and marketing, quality assurance, operations, regulatory affairs, clinical engineering, and consulting, and more than one third of them have been promoted to management positions.
Attached are a program viewbook and several articles written about the program. Please forward this email message along with the attachments to your senior biomedical engineering students, especially those who might be interested in employment with medical device companies, hospitals, or healthcare consulting firms. Students can also visit www.eng.mu.edu/hctm or contact me directly at (414) 288-6059 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
