Dear International Student,
Depending on where your home country is, you may or may not know what real cold temperatures are. This may be your first real winter ever! I confess that I did not know how to dress for below Zero temperatures when I first move to Ohio back in 1999!!! It takes a little bit of patience and lots of planning but you can become a master at Dressing Up for the Cold too!! Please, follow these guidelines for dressing up during this week and maybe do some research too. I hope this helps all of you stay warm!
Safety Tips for When You Go Outside!
When a winter storm or extreme cold threatens, you must always dress warmly and return indoor as soon as possible.
- Wear multiple layers of clothing to stay warm, as well as a hat, scarf, mittens, a water-resistant jacket and boots.

- Make sure you stay as dry as possible, as water against the skin from wet clothing can chill the body quickly.
- Don't ignore shivering. If you shiver persistently while you're outdoors, it's a sign that you need to return inside.
