the Federal Perkins Loan Entrance Counseling Online
All first time Federal Perkins Loan recipients are required to complete entrance counseling prior to receiving funds. During the entrance counseling you will learn, among other things that the Federal Perkins Loan is a limited, need-based federal student loan. The interest rate is 5 percent and no interest accrues while the student is enrolled at least half-time. There is a grace period of nine months prior to entering repayment. Borrowing limits are determined by the U.S. Department of Education. Please complete your Federal Perkins Loan Entrance Counseling online. - Sign
the Federal Perkins Loan Master Promissory Note
MSOE will mail the Federal Perkins Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) to you a few weeks prior to the start of the term. The envelope will be stamped "Important Loan Documents." Please complete it in its entirety and immediately return it to MSOE.
Previous Borrowers
- If you have received a Federal Perkins Loan previously and completed your entrance counseling and MPN, you are NOT required to complete anything. Your Federal Perkins Loan funds will automatically be applied to your account in the amount indicated on your Financial Aid Award Offer.
