Types of Scholarships 

Academic Scholarships*
Scholarships awarded to new students by MSOE based on their high school cumulative GPA and their ACT or SAT scores. Academic scholarships are renewable on a yearly basis up to a maximum of 6 years (18 full-time quarters). Please contact the MSOE Admission Office for further information.

Transfer Scholarships*
Scholarships awarded to transfer students by MSOE based on their transfer cumulative GPA. Transfer scholarships are renewable on a yearly basis up to a maximum of 6 years (18 full-time quarters). Please contact the MSOE Admission Office for further information.

* Please note that you must be enrolled full-time to receive these scholarships.

MSOE Annual and Endowed Scholarships
MSOE has partnered with various corporations and organizations to offer a variety scholarship opportunities. Information on currently available scholarships is online at our Annual and Endowed Scholarships webpage.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Scholarship
To be considered for the CNA scholarship, a student must have completed a CNA course in high school or at a community college, have a 3.00 GPA or higher on a 4.00 scale, and have applied to MSOE’s School of Nursing. To receive the $1,000 scholarship, a letter of recommendation from the student’s CNA instructor will need to be submitted to the student’s admission counselor. This scholarship is renewable up to a maximum of 6 years (18 full-time quarters).

Delta Epsilon Chi Association (DECA) Scholarship
To be considered for the DECA scholarship, a student must have participated in DECA during high school, have a 3.00 GPA or higher on a 4.00 scale, and have applied to one of MSOE's Rader School of Business programs (BM, IB, MIS, TC). To receive the $1,000 scholarship, a letter of recommendation from the student's DECA advisor will need to be submitted to the student's admission counselor. This scholarship is renewable up to a maximum of 6 years (18 full-time quarters).

MSOE Diversity Scholarship
Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is committed to recruiting, retaining and graduating underrepresented students. A diverse student body enhances the educational experience at MSOE. MSOE’s Diversity Scholarship employs a holistic process for evaluating eligible applicants, which includes high school GPA, course curriculum and an essay. The scholarship is open to all incoming full-time freshmen; must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to apply. View critera.

FIRST Scholarship
The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Scholarship is a competitive scholarship program for full-time incoming freshmen, who participated in FIRST any time during high school. The scholarship may be used for any undergraduate course of study at MSOE. Two students selected as finalists will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Students who apply for the FIRST scholarship and not selected as a finalist will receive a $1,000 scholarship. The scholarships are renewable up to a maximum of 4 years (12 full-time quarters). Future Business Leaders Association (FBLA) Scholarship
To be considered for the FBLA scholarship, a student must have participated in FBLA during high school, have a 3.00 GPA or higher on a 4.00 scale, and have applied to one of MSOE's Rader School of Business programs (BM, IB, MIS, TC). To receive the $1,000 scholarship, a letter of recommendation from the student's FBLA advisor will need to be submitted to the student's admission counselor. This scholarship is renewable up to a maximum of 6 years (18 full-time quarters).

International Student Scholarships
Scholarships awarded to new international students by MSOE based on their high school cumulative grade point average or their college cumulative grade point average. International Scholarships are awarded automatically after completing the admission process and are for undergraduate, non-fully sponsored international students. International Student scholarships are renewable on a yearly basis up to a maximum of 6 years (18 full-time quarters). Please contact the MSOE Admission Office for further information.

Legacy Scholarship
Beginning with the 2010-2011 academic year, the MSOE Legacy Scholarship is a scholarship program for full-time incoming freshmen, who have a parent or grandparent that is an alumnus of MSOE. This award is a one-time $1,000 scholarship. To be considered for this scholarship, a student must indicate that the parent or grandparent is a MSOE alumnus on their admission application. Private Scholarships
MSOE's Financial Aid Office understands that searching for private scholarships can be difficult. In order to assist students in their scholarship search, our office has compiled the following private scholarship websites for your review. While MSOE is providing these sites, we do not endorse nor are we affiliated with any of the private resources listed.

Project Lead the Way Scholarship
The Project Lead the Way Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to full-time incoming freshmen, who took at least one Project Lead the Way course in high school. This $1,000 scholarship is renewable up to a maximum of 6 years (18 full-time quarters). Please note that this scholarship will not be awarded until confirmation is received from MSOE's Project Lead the Way Office that at least one Project Lead the Way course has been completed. Reserve Officer Training Corps
Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is an educational program that trains students to be officers in the United States military.  Scholarship opportunities are available through all of the ROTC programs in a variety of academic majors. More information may be found on the MSOE ROTC webpage.

Rube Goldberg Scholarship
If a student has participated in a Rube Goldberg Machine Contest™ and has been accepted to MSOE, the student can be considered for the scholarship. A qualified student must be an incoming freshman who participated in a high school Rube Goldberg Machine Contest™. Students need to complete a scholarship application and submit a letter of recommendation from their coach. The scholarship is a $1000 scholarship (renewable for up to 4 years). Science Olympiad Protein Modeling Scholarship
The Science Olympiad Protein Modeling Scholarship is a competitive scholarship program for full-time incoming freshmen, who participated in Science Olympiad Protein Modeling event at the National Tournament any time during high school. Members of the National Championship team will receive $10,000/year and other participants will receive $1000/year if they complete the application. The scholarship may be used for any undergraduate course of study at MSOE. The scholarships are renewable up to a maximum of 4 years (12 full-time quarters). More information and application here.

SMART Scholarship
The SMART (Student Modeling A Research Topic) Scholarship is a competitive scholarship program for full-time incoming freshmen, who participated in SMART any time during high school. The scholarship may be used for any undergraduate course of study at MSOE. The scholarships are renewable up to a maximum of 4 years (12 full-time quarters). Technology Student Association (TSA) Scholarship
Technology Student Association (TSA) scholarship is a scholarship awarded to full-time incoming freshmen who are members of TSA and have participated in a regional and/or national competition. This $1,000 scholarship is renewable up to a maximum of 6 years (18 full-time quarters). Please note that this scholarship will be awarded once MSOE has verified your participation in the organization and what event(s) you participated in for the regional and/or national competition. In addition to the scholarships listed above, you may wish to check with local churches, a parent's place of business, high school guidance office, library, local chamber of commerce, local hospitals, bookstores, and other clubs, sports, or organizations for any additional scholarship opportunities.
