Job Description:
The Physics & Chemistry department is looking for 4-6 students to assist the faculty in running the lab aspect of PH2020 – Electromagnetism and Optics. Positions are available for the 2013-14 academic year and involve 6-12 hours per week when classes are in session. The students will need to have passed PH2020 or the equivalent with at least a B. Qualifications include an outgoing personality and the desire to help others learn. Assistants with tutoring experience would be ideal. Each section of PH-2020 meets for three 2-hour periods in the lab each week. Ideally, a student assistant should be available for all 6 hours of one or more sections, but assistants who are available for at least 4-5 hours out of six will be considered. Students applying for these positions may want to look at the schedules of PH-2020 as they schedule their own classes for the quarter.
