Job Description:
Perform administrative support of MSOE’s IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot various software and server hardware related issues.
• Work with IT staff members to provide a high level of uptime for all IT infrastructure including Servers, SAN storage, Networking, and Telecommunications.
• Work with IT and Web Services in providing programming skills to allow various systems to communicate with each other.
• Provide 3rd level support to all members of the MSOE community.
• Work with IT staff members to complete assignments and projects as needed.
• Be part of an on-call rotation.
Requirements:
• Experience with Linux(Ubuntu) and Windows Server OS (2003/2008R2)required
• An understanding of programming and scripting using PHP, Perl, XML, SQL, HTML highly desirable.
• Knowledge of VMWare a plus but not required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the MSOE community and IT staff.
