The following information will provide you with important
details concerning student employment policies and procedures. Please read this carefully and contact the
Human Resources office at (414) 277-7132 if you have any questions.
To qualify
for student employment during the summer you are required to be registered for
at least six undergraduate credits or three graduate credits for the upcoming
fall term. The summer employment period
begins on June 1 and ends on August 31. You may
work a maximum of 40 hours per week during the summer for all jobs held on
campus.
You will be paid for hours worked. You will NOT be paid for lunch breaks, sick
days, holidays, or as a result of any emergency or weather related closing.
All student employees must complete the Student
Employment Contract. In addition,
students who have not worked on campus will be required to complete payroll
forms: I-9 (Employment Eligibility and Verification), W4 (Federal and state
withholdings), and Direct Deposit Form.
All completed forms must be returned to the Human Resources office prior
to starting employment with the university.
Students who graduate in May from MSOE may be employed for
the summer only. The summer student
employment period ends on August 31.
