In order to begin processing an application for admission, all of the following materials must be received by the MSOE Enrollment Management Office at least 60 days (90 days for graduate applicants) prior to the beginning of the term you intend to begin your studies at MSOE.  Please follow the these steps to make sure you can enroll in MSOE’s next available term!

 

  1. Start by learning more about MSOE’s academic programs.
  2. Read more about current international students’ experiences.
  3. Look into the companies that MSOE has relationships with.
  4. Take a look at the MSOE academic calendar for important dates and deadlines.
  5. Learn more about financing your education.
  6. Once you are ready to apply please fill out the international student application. Please read all the instructions carefully. (Online applications are free to submit)
  7. After you apply, our international admissions counselor will contact you about your application.  The counselor will personally guide you through the rest of the process.
  8. Please complete the application requirements for undergraduate and graduate programs.  
  9. Once you complete all the requirements, your admission counselor will inform you of the decision.  We estimate it will take 5-10 days for undergraduate decisions and 20-25 days for graduate decisions.
  10. Once you are accepted to a program at MSOE, you must submit the non-refundable enrollment deposit to hold your place at MSOE.
  11. Once we receive your Enrollment Deposit, MSOE will mail you Certificate for Eligibility for an F-1 Visa, the I-20 form
  12. After you receive your I-20 and acceptance letters, apply at the nearest U.S Consulate or Embassy in your country for an F-1 visa.  If you have questions about the visa application and visa interview please contact the international admissions counselor or the international student advisor.
  13. If you plan to stay in the MSOE residence halls, you must reserve a room by filling out the International Student Housing Application and mail it to the Housing Department.  Also, please notify the international admissions counselor about your intended stay on campus.
  14. If you are going to be covered on your own health insurance while studying in the U.S., please provide proof of health insurance coverage.  If you plan to purchase MSOE’s health insurance plan, please inform the international admissions counselor.  International students are required to have health insurance coverage while studying at MSOE.
  15. If you are granted a visa to enter the Unites States and to study at MSOE, make travel arrangements to arrive at MSOE at least one (1) week before the beginning date of classes.
  16. If you wish MSOE to make arrangements to meet you at the Milwaukee International Airport, inform the MSOE Enrollment Management Office of your flight details at least two (2) weeks in advance of the date of arrival.
