All new U.S. and international students participate in an orientation program
prior to the fall quarter, which marks the official beginning of an academic
year. This two day program is designed to make each student's adjustment to
campus easier. The Assistant Director, International Services, the International
Student Advisors, and the English-as-a-second-Language Coordinator conduct an
orientation session specifically for new international students before the
beginning of the fall quarter. It is required that all new international
students arrive on campus approximately one (1) week prior to classes starting
and attend the orientation program. This will give them time to adjust to their
new home and community.
For international students arriving in the spring, summer, or winter
quarters, an individualized tour of campus and orientation will be provided. A
student mentor from the International Student Association (ISA) will also be
provided to help the new student in any way possible, in adjusting themselves to
the city of Milwaukee and MSOE.
2009 International Student Orientation: New incoming international students are required to be present for the entire orientation. Orientation is FREE for all international students. Returning international students are encouraged to attend.
