This summer six undergraduate BioMolecular Engineering students participated in an undergraduate research competition known as iGEM. The premise of the competition is to create a genetically modified organism for some beneficial purpose. This year, the team had created a system to take brewery waste from the greater Milwaukee area and produce Eucalyptol, a product that has many commercial uses. This October, the team will be flying to Toronto, Canada to show off their efforts. Wish them luck!
