Rube Goldberg Machine Contest
Taking something simple and making it complicated is a teenager's dream come true ... and that's just what this competition does. It challenges students to build a contraption that does something simple (peel an apple, sharpening a pencil, putting toothpaste on a toothbrush) in as many steps as possible. Physics, chemistry, engineering and ingenuity are all put to the test.

The Challenge:
Inflate and pop a balloon.

Last Year's Challenge:
Water a plant in 20 or more steps.
