Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science
Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008
(TEAMS) is a one-day, two-part competition.
High school students across the country compete against each other to prove who can put their knowledge of math, chemistry, physics, biology and computer applications to use best in a real-world situation.
Past questions, for example, have dealt with such real-world engineering issues as air transportation; bridge design and rehabilitation; flood analysis; solar powered vehicles and food preservation.
Student teams work in an open-book, open-note, open-discussion format.
Who can participate?
Teams consist of four-to-eight students, from grades nine-to-twelve. To enable the broadest range of participants, schools may enter multiple varsity and/or junior varsity teams.
Awards
From this one-day, two-part competition, local, state and national awards and recognition are determined.
