Students Modeling a Research Topic (SMART) Teams
The minute world of molecules comes to life for students participating in SMART Teams!
SMART Teams are teams of high school students and their teacher working with research scientists to design and construct physical models of the proteins that are being investigated in their laboratories. The SMART Team program connects you to the real world of science that exists in active biomolecular research.
SMART Teams include a teacher who has participated in the Center for BioMolecular Modeling's summer course, Genes, Schemes, Molecular Machines, students and a research mentor. Teams work to complete the three phases of the program: qualification, research and model design and presentation.
Ask your guidance counselor or science teacher if your school participates in SMART Teams.
