Why did you pick MSOE?
I chose MSOE because the curriculum covered a broad range of topics in the electrical engineering discipline. This allowed me to see what areas of the discipline I liked and was good at. MSOE offered more lab hours than other schools, so it better suited my learning style (hands-on approach). I also had a friend graduate from MSOE, so I knew what the quality of the classes were like. MSOE did offer a bonus: it was close to family and friends.

What do you like about MSOE?
I liked the small class sizes, the hands-on experience through lab work, and the atmosphere of the faculty. The professors at MSOE will go out of their way to make sure you understand the material. It was also intriguing when professors integrated their professional working experiences into subject material.

What would you tell someone who is considering coming to MSOE?
Make sure you shadow a student to see what MSOE classes are like. You will be able to talk to professors and other students. This will give you a brief insight to what life at MSOE is like. If you want to go a step further, talk to some employers and graduates of MSOE.

How did your internship in China come about and what did you do?
I received an e-mail through Career Net about an internship opportunity in Suzhou, China. It looked like a wonderful and challenging experience, so I interviewed with the company, Williams Controls. I was fortunate enough to be selected for the internship.

I had two projects as a team leader. I worked with my team members to solve a few ongoing issues with electronic throttle control. The outcome of my projects increased the product's first-pass yield and reduced company costs.

What do you do in your free time?
When I have free time, I like to ride bikes, spend time with family and friends, work on cars, Frisbee Golf, and fly RC Airplanes.

Any groups or clubs you’re involved in?
I was involved with IEEE, Peer Mentor Program, and was the president of HKN (Eta Kappa Nu).
