What is your favorite class? Do you
have a favorite professor?
I really
enjoy any chemistry class or any of the electrical engineering focused classes.
I have several professors that I like - it's too hard to just pick one.
What have you liked most about your
MSOE experience so far?
I like the
personal attention from professors, the small class sizes and the welcoming
atmosphere.
Beyond academics, what have you
learned at MSOE?
I've learned
that it is very important to become involved in activities outside of the
classroom and to gain as many different experiences as possible.
What activities are you involved in?
I am a member
of BMES (Biomedical Engineering Society) and I'm on the Executive Board for the
Symphony Orchestra and Choir of MSOE.
How do you spend your free time?
When I have
free time, I spend it with my friends by going shopping, going to the museums,
exploring Milwaukee
in general, or just relaxing. Some of my favorite activities are scrap booking,
camping and horseback riding.
What's your favorite memory at MSOE?
I have a
great deal of good memories from MSOE, especially from all of the people I've
met and friends that I've made. In particular, Professor Swiontek's Systems and
Signals I class was always entertaining.
Do you have advice for students
considering MSOE?
If you are
interested in attending MSOE, make sure you attend one of the shadow days.
Shadowing a current student is the best way to get a true feel for the campus
atmosphere, the classes and the professors.
How (why) did you choose MSOE? Are you
happy with your decision?
I chose MSOE
because it was one of the few colleges in the area with an accredited
biomedical engineering program. I also liked the location, the class sizes and
the fact that biomedical engineering students do a four-year design project.
I'm happy with my decision. While the classes at MSOE are challenging, I feel
that I'm being prepared well for any future career choice I make. The classes
are very practical and hands on, which I also enjoy.
What have your scholarships done for
you?
Scholarships were influential in my choosing to come
to MSOE, since many other schools did not offer as much financial assistance.
Having these scholarships has let me truly focus on my education and the other
experiences I am gaining, rather than being distracted by the financial aspects
of my education.
