Major: Electrical Engineering Technology

He's the first graduate of several from the innovative 2+2 program established by the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) and Gateway Technical College, and is now a hardware engineer with Rockwell Automation.

It's quite a change from the warehouse work he did - sometimes for 80 hours a week - for a couple of years after high school.

"The money was good, but the schedule was very tough. I decided to go back to school."

Gary took some required foundation courses at Gateway's Racine Campus, then entered the Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) Program. Students who complete the two-year Gateway EET program can transfer to MSOE for two years of more-advanced study to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering technology.

Gary really liked the courses and was impressed by the industrial experience of his instructors.

"I wouldn't have made it without great help and understanding from my instructors," says Gary .

Gary earned his EET associate degree, then landed a spot in a two-year internship program at Rockwell Automation while attending MSOE. He eventually was hired full time.
