Major: Nursing
Class: 2015
Why did you choose MSOE?
My neighbor, an RN, recommended MSOE’s School of Nursing. She spoke highly of the exceptional clinical competency of MSOE nursing students. The first time I visited MSOE, I felt I was right at home. MSOE offers a college experience that is both personal and challenging.
What would you like to do after graduation?
I would like to practice in the Milwaukee area. I have an interest in emergency services, as I have been mentored by many nurses while serving as a hospital volunteer.
What are your hobbies? What do you do in your free time?
I love to play my violin (when I have time). For me, time spent in God’s Word and in prayer is time well spent. I also love to take walks, get together with family and friends, and drink smoothies at my favorite coffee shop!
Are you involved in any student organizations, volunteer activities, etc.? If so, what?
I am an active member of the Student Nurses Association, a sophomore representative on the Student Advisory Committee, and secretary of a new group on campus, Colleges Against Cancer. I am a member of my home church, and I volunteer in a local hospital’s emergency department.
What advice would you give high school students about going to college?
Do not forget why you are in college. Your life has purpose and a plan that your years of education are preparing you for. No matter what major you choose, you are going to use it someday to serve others. When the rigors of college exponentially multiply, remember your goals. Let them motivate you to keep moving forward.
