Major: BioMolecular Engineering
Class: 2013
Where are you from originally?
I am from Grafton, Wis. (Ozaukee County, 20 miles or so north of here).
Why did you choose to attend MSOE?
I chose MSOE because it is one of the only places in the Midwest that offers a biomolecular engineering degree. The campus is also close to home, but far enough away that I can live on campus and get a full college experience.
What do you like about the BioE major?
I like the BioE major because it is the perfect blend of biology and chemistry (my two favorite subjects). I also like it because our major is currently like a tight-knit family (if a little dysfunctional at times, but that keeps things interesting!).
What do you enjoy doing for fun?
For fun, orchestra and pep band are my primary extra-curricular activities. I also tend to just hang out with my fellow BioE’s and do a bunch of fun activities with them.
What are you involved in at MSOE?
As far as all that I am involved in, besides orchestra and pep band, I am also part of the SBE (Society for Biological Engineers), I also tutor chemistry about six hours a week.
What do you like most about MSOE so far?
What I like best about MSOE so far is that everyone here is as crazy and nerdy as me! Everyone is so excited about engineering and science!
What do you hope to do after graduation?
I hope to go on to graduate school and work somewhere in genetic engineering or proteonomics.
