Major: Computer Engineering

Class: 2012

Home town: Greenfield, Wis.

Why did you pick MSOE?
My main reason for attending MSOE was because of its location. I wasn't particularly excited about going out of state and MSOE offered an excellent program in a subject that I was very interested in right here in Milwaukee.

What do you like about MSOE?

I was, and continue to be, extremely impressed by the high quality of its academic programs. When it comes to your education, MSOE is serious about academics provided that you are interested in learning. The professors are extremely smart and knowledgeable and genuinely kind and courteous. If you have a question, chances are they know the answer.

What would you tell someone who is considering coming to MSOE?
The curriculum is definitely much tougher than programs in other schools based on my observations, but when you make it through you'll do so knowing it was all of your hard work that paid off in the end.

What do you do in your free time?

I enjoy playing both classic/retro video games on my rebuilt arcade cabinet as well as newer ones on the PS3/Xbox. I'm an avid moviegoer with a large collection of the popular and obscure and I also enjoy playing the drums, guitar and bass as well as recording myself at home.

Where do you work?
For the past four years I've held a position as an intern at Direct Supply Inc. I started as a technology delivery intern doing tasks similar to those IT has to do at MSOE such as re-imaging laptops, doing spot repairs and setting up systems for new hires. Recently I moved onto the infrastructure team where I work in the data centers across campus. My primary responsibilities include power capacity engineering/planning as well as racking and removing servers, cable management and documentation, among other things.
