Why did you pick MSOE?
I had my associate’s degree from a local technical college and MSOE’s 2+2 program fit perfectly with my previous classes. I was able to transfer my credits used to obtain my associate’s degree to MSOE which gave me junior standing for a bachelor’s degree.
What do you like about MSOE?
MSOE’s reputation in the Milwaukee area was the most important to me in choosing this school. Their small classes and convenient evening class schedule worked with my personal schedule as well.
Why did you choose to major in business management at MSOE?
I chose to major in business management because I thought this would be a great compliment to the associate degree I had previously received in EET. As companies compete more and more in the global market place, employers seek to hire candidates who have a thorough understanding of business practices, effective communication skills, and great problem solvers--what better place to learn and develop these skills than MSOE.
I immediately knew MSOE was the best choice for me because it allows full-time employees the opportunity to work and study towards earning a degree. The small campus and classroom sizes are an added bonus, and the professors are very helpful and readily available to help when needed.
What do you like about the program?
What I most enjoy about the program is that the faculty posses the real-world know how and experience that is vital in guiding and teaching students preparing to enter the field. The fact that professors are able to speak from real-world experience helps to give students the insight required as to what employers seek in potential employees.
What would you tell someone who is considering coming to MSOE?
If you are a person with other commitments like work and a family, MSOE and its professors really work with you. MSOE understands its students have a life outside of school and they try their best to make a degree attainable.
What do you do in your free time?
I work full time during the day and in my evenings I spend my time with my wife and three sons with one more son on the way.
Any groups or clubs you’re involved in?
Due to my work schedule and family responsibilities, I am unable to get involved at this time in any groups or clubs. In the future should my schedule change, I know there are plenty of opportunities for me at MSOE.
