Major: Nursing

Class: 2013

Home town: Janesville, Wis.

Why did you chose MSOE?
I came to MSOE because of the endless opportunities this university provides for me. The excellent career placement after graduating, small class sizes without teacher’s assistants, and guaranteed admission into the nursing program are just a few reasons that helped make my decision easy.

What do you like about MSOE?
I love being challenged at MSOE. The trimester system allows me to complete more credits in a year than the semester courses could provide. Also, I like being able to meet with my professors whenever I have a question. The professors know me by name, which helps me to succeed.

What would you tell someone who is considering MSOE?
First, MSOE provides a lot of great opportunities to get involved on campus and in the community. From Greek life to sports, there is something for everybody. Also, MSOE’s track system plans out all of the classes students need to take from year to year and in what trimesters the students should be taking the classes. This allows students to complete all the curriculum requirements in four years if they stay on track.

What do you do for fun?

When it is nice out, my friends and I go for walks down to the lake. It is so convenient to be located in downtown Milwaukee because there is always so much going on. There are also great restaurants within walking distance. In my free time I also work out at the Kern Center, which is MSOE’s athletic building.

Are you involved in any clubs or organizations?

Clubs are a great way to meet new people. When I came to MSOE, I joined Women’s Connection to meet the girls on campus. I am also a sister of Lambda Zeta Nu sorority. The Greek life on campus is a lot of fun. And finally, I am a member of the Student Nurses Association. I met a lot of other people who were interesting in nursing through this organization.
