What do you like about MSOE?
Because MSOE is a smaller university, there is no sense of being lost in the masses that students might experience at a larger school. My composition professor took the time to learn the names of everyone in my class on the first day, and that’s just one of the many examples of the personal attention that students here receive.

What is one object you brought with you that you couldn’t leave home without?
Definitely my mandolin.

What is your favorite place on campus?
I really enjoy going to the Grohmann Museum. The art collection there is incredible, and being a right- and left-brained thinker, I love the depictions of work and labor as art. Plus, it’s free for students! One thing you learn quickly at MSOE: never pass up anything that’s free.

What do you do in your free time?
I play the viola in the UWM Symphony Orchestra and in the MSOE Symphony Orchestra, explore Milwaukee, color in my roommate’s coloring books, and have "The Office" and "Jersey Shore" marathons with my friends.

Do you have any interesting hobbies?
I love playing bluegrass music on mandolin. I’ve met people at MSOE who play banjo, fiddle, and guitar; we love getting together to jam when we can.

Any advice to students considering MSOE?
Academics are the top priority at MSOE, but there is simply too much going on outside of the engineering, nursing, and business schools to stay in your dorm room studying and playing video games all day.
