Why did you pick MSOE?
There are several reasons:
1) Previous instructors recommended it to me.
2) MSOE has a excellent reputation.
3) MSOE is known to to be a challenge, and i like a challenge.
Was the transfer process easy?
Yes, I really did not have to do anything but apply, pick up my books, and start class.
Why did you pick MIS as your major?
I have an associate degree in network telecommunications from Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) and MIS seemed to be the logical choice as a path for my bachelor's degree. I wanted the business knowledge to go along with the technical knowledge, which I feel makes me more valuable to a employer.
What did you like about MSOE?
The challenge, the instructors and the other students.
What would you tell someone who is considering coming to MSOE?
Be ready to work hard!
What do you do in your free time?
Fix computers and spend time with my wife and kids.
Any groups or clubs you’re involved in?
Outside of class me and a few fellow students from the MIS program are designing an electronic patient intake and exam program in Microsoft Visual Studio for the MSOE Health Services Department. It is currently 90 percent complete and is being overseen by Dr. Kathy Faggiani. It will replace 95 percent of the paper intake and exam forms that the nurses are required to fill out. The database has more than 30 tables and more than 500 data elements.
Did you have any scholarships?
Yes, I had the MSOE grant and a transfer grant.
