Profile Detail

Jill Eide '10

Major: Electrical Engineering Technology

Class: 2010

Where are you from originally?
I am originally from Buffalo, NY.

When did you graduate?
I graduated in May of 2010.

What type of scholarship did you have, if any?
I received the MSOE Transfer Scholarship, Wisconsin National Guard Tuition Grant, and the Montgomery GI Bill.

Did the scholarships help you?
The scholarships helped me by allowing me to concentrate on my studies, rather than money. They tremendously lessened the amount that I will have to pay back after graduation.

Why did you transfer to MSOE? Are you happy with your decision?
I transferred to MSOE because it was a good opportunity for me to continue my education after graduating from Gateway Technical College. With the transfer agreement and the evening class schedule, I was able to attend classes and get experience at the same time. I also appreciated the small class sizes and labs.

What did you like most about your MSOE experience?
I liked the personal attention from the professors.

Beyond academics, what did you learn at MSOE?
I learned leadership and time-management skills.

What activities were you involved in?

I was involved with Junior Achievement, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. I am also a member of the Wisconsin Air National Guard.

What do you do for fun?

In my spare time, I like to travel. My entire family lives in other states, so I take a lot of road trips with my dog.

Now that you've graduated, what are you doing?
In the civilian world, I am an instructor at Gateway Technical College and teach in the Electrical Engineering Technology program. I am really enjoying it!  Soon I'll be attending Officer Training School in the Air National Guard.
