Why did you pick MSOE?
It is my dream to bring technology and nature, my two passions, closer together. MSOE's challenging academic environment seems the perfect place to acquire the necessary skills to begin my career. I like that I can take major-specific classes right away. Also, both my father and grandfather attended MSOE and recommended it very highly.
What do you like about MSOE?
I like the people; everyone has such diverse interests and they aren't afraid to express them. I have learned and experienced so many new things from simply interacting with the students who surround me. Also, I love the location. Milwaukee is a beautiful city, full of activity. I especially enjoy the excellent system of parks. There is a great balance between urban areas and nature.
What would you tell someone who is considering coming to MSOE?
MSOE is a difficult school, it is for people who wish to make the most of their brain power and overcome new challenges each day. However, it is never impossible. There are many different ways to get help with schoolwork. The class sizes are very small and professors are willing to answer your questions. I highly recommend MSOE to anyone who is driven towards an engineering career.
If you are coming here, relax! College is a great place to learn and grow, and this means more than just academically. Don't let yourself get so caught up in schoolwork that you forget you are a person. Remember to take time to explore your interests and expand socially. A great G.P.A means little when that is all you have.
What do you do in your free time?
I love being outdoors. I enjoy biking, camping, swimming, kayaking, gardening and almost anything involving nature. I would love to own a sailboat and when in Milwaukee, I go to the lakeshore almost daily. I like to study foreign languages and cultures. I have studied Japanese and Chinese language, and am strongly considering studying abroad in India. Lastly, I like trying new things and having as much fun as possible! :)
Any groups or clubs you're involved in?
I am involved in Choir and Knitting Club.
