Major: BioMolecular Engineering
Class: 2013
Where are you from?
I am from Waukesha, Wis.
What do you like about the BioE program?
I like how cutting-edge the BioE program is, as well as the variety of job opportunities it give us. Of course, I love the laboratories.
Why did you choose BioE as your major?
I chose BioE primarily because I was not sure what I wanted to do and I thought it sounded really interesting. Luckily for me, the longer I stick with it, the more I like it and can see my future beginning with a BioE degree from MSOE.
Why did you choose MSOE?
I chose MSOE because it had such a good reputation and job placement rate. The other college I was seriously considering was UW-Madison, however since I wanted to pursue engineering I wanted to go to a school that specialized in that, as well as a school from which I could graduate in four years with an engineering degree, which is fairly uncommon. Also, I chose MSOE for the BioE program, which is still only offered at a few colleges and universities throughout the country.
What type of advice would you give someone who is considering attending MSOE?
Make sure engineering is what they want to do by participating in MSOE’s high school programs, or maybe taking some engineering classes in high school. Also, they should definitely tour MSOE, and do an overnight stay if possible to experience the culture of MSOE, which is very distinct from other colleges.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time I like to read, do yoga, watch Glee and Prison Break, hang out with friends and family, and sleep.
