ASCE Civil Engineering Database

The ASCE database indexes all the information published by the American Society of Civil Engineers- books, conference proceedings and journals. The MSOE library has subscriptions to 8 journals that are indexed in this database and to conference proceedings.  When logged into the proxy server, you should have access to articles from the following journals:


  • Journal of Architectural Engineering
  • Journal of Construction and Engineering Management
  • Journal of Environmental Engineering
  • Journal of Management in Engineering
  • Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering
  • Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering Education and Practice
  • Journal of Structural Engineering
  • Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management

Some of the journals that are not available full text through the ASCE database are available in print on the first floor of the library. Search for the journal title on the Library's Catalog to check if the journal can be accessed in print.

The library does not have a subscription to the for ASCE books. Even if you are logged onto MSOE's network, you will not be able to access the full text of this information. Requests for ASCE books can be made through Interlibrary Loan.
