Use the following step-by-step instructions to access the MSOE proxy server, and to use the proxy server to access the MSOE Library databases.
Known problems that can affect access to the MSOE proxy server include the following:
- Security software (such as Norton) can interfere with access. You may need to temporarily disable security software.
- Firewalls can interfere with access.
- Before enrolling at MSOE, some students enrolled in short-term courses offered by MSOE's Business Excellence Consortium (BEC). These students were issued "limited-privilege" MSOE network passwords. In some cases, when these students enrolled as regular students at MSOE, their password privileges were not upgraded, and as a result, their passwords do not permit them access to the MSOE proxy server. If you previously participated in BEC coursework, and are now enrolled as a regular student at MSOE, but still cannot obtain access to the proxy server after following these instructions, please log in to Request Tracker as described above to generate a help desk ticket.
